Scholarship Summary
Two (2) $1,000 scholarships awarded per year to graduating seniors

Qualification for applicants

  • Minimum 3.5 GPA (submit official academic transcript)
  • SAT or ACT score(s) (submit copy of official test scores)
  • 450-500 word essay
  • Interview (will be considered after applicant has submitted and met all requirements)
  • Maintain 3.0 or higher cumulative GPA at the college/university level (for subsequent disbursements)
  • Demonstrated leadership in church and/or community service

The Chyriell Drain-Hill Scholarship is an achievement-based scholarship awarded to graduating high school seniors each year. Students are recognized for their capacity to lead, serve and their commitment to making an impact in their communities.

Applicant must be:

  • Current high school (or home-schooled) senior attending school in the state of Illinois
  • U.S. Citizen
  • Planning to pursue a degree at an accredited U.S. post-secondary institution
  • Must have a cumulative 3.5 GPA (unweighted) after most recent grade period completed
  • Applicants may not be children or grandchildren of relatives of Chyriell Drain-Hill

How do I apply for the scholarship?

An initial application becomes available on our website in October each year. If you are at that time a high school senior with at least a 3.5 GPA, you may apply by completing the online application by the February 10, 2017 deadline.
